The AWSs are helping the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) to collect data from farming communities across the country. This data, including Rainfall, Temperature, Humidity, Evapotranspiration, Wind Direction, Wind Speed, Soil Moisture, Soil Temperature and Pressure are instantaneously analysed daily and turned into forecasts which will be disseminated to farmers nationwide in 5 Ghanaian languages (Akan, Hausa, Ga, Ewe, Dagbani) to influence their daily activities during the farming season.
A centralized Network Operations Centre is being established to ensure robust, secure connectivity between MoFA's central data platforms, all regional and district Agriculture offices, AWS sites, and extension agents.
